Wait – this isn’t a fish!
Just wrapped up my first African safari and I am in LOVE. It turns out one of the most appealing creatures IRL is the lowly warthog. It is hard to tell from this still shot, but their faces are so darn cute, and when they go trotting about, it makes you laugh out loud.

A couple lionesses and their cubs got quite close, including this adorableness. Guide said he was around 3-4 months old. Those giant paws just kill me!

Early one morning, we happened upon a pair of amorous giraffes. Of course, I whipped out the camera, because that’s who I am. (We have covered this ground underwater, but turns out, my inner pornographer is equal opportunity – ahem, animals only.)
Shooting into the sunrise, always a challenge, gives these shots a sepia quality that I really like.

We were lucky enough for multiple elephant sightings, including several herds. Here’s the matriarch framing a youngster. Mama kept a close eye!

And lastly, my favorite of all the creatures we saw, the wild African dogs. We had an amazing experience following a pack for a bit until they tired of us. So incredibly beautiful!
